Shaping up to be an interesting day.

Got up early and went to the basement to lift dumbells, letting the cats wander in and out of their coveted unfinished part of the basement. When one came out with wet feet, I took a closer look....

The hot water heater had leaked. Not much, and I'm not sure when, but I'm going to have to wash/dry some fabric scraps and so forth over the next couple of days. The worst cleanup was a waterlogged bag of cat litter - mud city :(

Good news though - building maintenance came out to drain off the rest of the water and replace the heater (which they say they already have on hand). Just sitting here waiting to take a shower, and contemplating having some breakfast.

Good thing you had the fuzzy-footed early warning team with you ... otherwise it sounds as if it might have been a while before you discovered the leak. =O

BTW, isn't it nice to have a fairly major repair happening and know that YOU don't have to open YOUR wallet for it? :-))))))))
