from the attic of my hard drive
Aug. 3rd, 2004 10:09 pmAggh.. I think I finally just caught up on email, lists, etc. Will be an age before I am able to sufficiently reply to anything!
Some bits and pieces picked up in my furious race through the contents of my inbox:
Infectious Wearables - you too can wear ties, tshirts, caps, etc. delicately patterned in the molecular structure of some of the most dangerous diseases known to man (SARS, smallpox, and HIV are represented, among others). Kind of neat, kind of scary, perfect for the biologist/brainy goth on your gift list :P
Wild Ginger's Wild Things! "is a fully functional FREE program for drafting and printing patterns for hats, bags, wraps, and footwear". Downloaded of course, but haven't had the time/energy to pursue further. But it will let me design shoes??? Lust...
It's Dress Like A Pirate Day: Simplicity finally has their Jack Sparrow pattern out (they also have what appears to be a Van Helsing coat as well. No, I don't work for Simplicity, I'm just a satisfied geek :P).
All silliness aside, I am very tired. I started the first day of my ASP.NET training and while lights are starting to go on in my head, I was stiff and sore most of the day. Whether this is because I was stuck on the plane from Memphis far longer than expected (delays because of the orange alert, weather, or something - a surprise because I'd not seen news all weekend), or because I'm taking a cold (sore throat) I don't know.
Hit the ground running after class, stopping off at the grocery and starting laundry. I also managed to start a careful wash of an old cloth doll that my grandmother made for me (thanks for the tips,
ragdoll!).
I should really get to bed early.
