Last night Kisia decided to "help" me clean the bathtub by hopping in and sipping at the bleach/water (!) mixture I was using to kill the stains. I grabbed her instantly and wiped off her feet; then D. and I forced water down her to dilute the bleach and waited.

I called the ASPCA Poison Control hotline to ask what I should be looking for; after an hour of watching Kisia play with the laser pointer, chase imaginary bugs on the wall and generally show no signs of vomiting or foaming at the mouth, we were pretty much assured that she felt fine :P

Still, it gave me a good scare and reminded me that just because I'm sure the smell of bleach will put a cat off, it won't, and I need to be more careful about chemicals around the Ladies - they really don't know any better :/

Yep - there's always the exception that proves the rule. Another case in point is that putting double sticky tape on surfaces will repel cats. Mine treat double sticky tape as a neat new toy :P

I did grab her in time, but I should have been more careful not to let her anywhere near the bathroom in the first place. Never underestimate the determination of a curious cat!
