there's nothing like...
Apr. 24th, 2004 08:58 pm...working your ass off all day, bathing in that warm endorphin/adrenaline glow all day, eating a huge dinner, follwed by a shower and falling dead asleep in a warm bed :)
Or at least the first part - I still need to shower :P I'm back from day 1 of the saber seminar I posted about earlier.
The special guest coach is Maestro Sean Hayes from the Northwest Academy of Arms, one of the best historic saber coaches in the country. "Maestro" sounds intimidating but he's quite approachable and is fully deserving of the title. Kept us moving and thinking all day and I'm still amazed we covered - and comprehended - as much as we did.
Footwork. Stretches. Basic blade work, on through simple parries, attacks, invitations, circular parries, and onto parry/riposte drills.
I feel kinda groovy but totally exhausted - I should try day-long classes more often; it leaves you so deliciously exhausted! More later. How 'bout that shower?
