One week home and I finally went through some of the miscellaneous sewing "stuff" that my mom was eager to unload on me. From my grandmother's sewing cabinet, I harvested:

  • more scissors than doG - straight, pinking shear, embroidery, fold-up, even bent bandage scissors
  • forceps (?) She was a nurse, but I imagine she used these for holding fabric sections together
  • scalpels and razorblades - again, probably brought from her workplace, but good for cutting buttonholes
  • many and diverse kinds of needles - upholstery, embroidery, quilting... even a glove needle. I didn't know such a thing existed, but I've got one now!
  • Incredibly, all of the feet/cams/instructions that came with her Singer (unscrewed out of it's cabinet and placed heavily into my car)

So...how about that sewing circle, y'all? Anyone need scissors?

I'm jealous! I KNOW I have at least 5 pairs of scissors, but can only find one at the moment.

When my grandmotehr passed away, I got all her sewing stuff, including an old metal Singer machine and an actual darning egg.
