early morning pondering

Managing to adhere to wakefulness even after a late night last night. The sunrise today was a beautiful peachy orange - "red in the morning sailors take warning" - should I be worried about more crap weather? Even though my allergies have been acting up, I'm not sure why as it's cooled off again and certainly everything that was trying to pollinate is dead now :/
More white powder was found in DC, sending residents into another round of panic or apathy, depending on who you ask. I realize that the authorities have to be careful and treat every little thing like an emergency, but I think that reporting every instance where the emergency turns out to be nothing does a disservice to the public and to the authorities. Every little tv blurb adds up to so much "crying wolf" so that if the Big Bad ever does turn up again, no one is going to take it seriously.

indyansel's journal re: Red Dwarf DVD extras - Alan Rickman as Lister? Hugh Laurie as Rimmer? That's just wrong!! Craig Charles and Chris Barrie so own those roles that other options are just impossible in my mind!
Plans for the weekend: this is going to be the Final Push for the Pink Thing. Mostly I just have to attach the skirt to the bodice and hem it; the rest is icing. I'm going to make a concerted effort not to "web surf" Saturday and Sunday as LJ + Kontraband = procrastination, and this way lies nightmares of not finishing the dress on time :P
More costuming stuff: I think I can accessorize for less than $75; the nicest find has been over the knee socks, not only period correct but with my cold nature I'll probably get years of winter use out of them :P
Time for work, and the 2nd cup of coffee.

Date: 2004-02-26 05:46 pm (UTC)But only because Doug Naylor and Rob Grant started tailoring the roles to the personalities of the actors after they were cast. A different cast in the beginning (or, rather, "The End") and who knows what direction the show would have gone?
