symposium envy and other stuff

anotheranonI wish I could go to the CSA's 2004 National Symposium - 20th c. couture. Keynote addressee is Ian McCaig, who did all of the costumes for the latest Star Wars movies. Papers presented will include "Punks and Pirates at the V&A: the Costiff Collection of Vivienne Westwood" and "Japanese Avant-Garde Street Fashion and the Breakdown of Traditional Values". Tours and talks out the wazoo. [le sigh].. Maybe next year I can be a princess at this ball!
Air Henry?: Henry VIII had a massive shoe collection, including football boots that may have been mostly for holiday show - the world's first "sneaker pimp"? Sorry, the concept of "Bluff Prince Hal" as a shoe fiend just amuses me (besides, think of his poor wives - with a shoe habit like his, how could he expect to keep the feet of 6 wives shod in royal splendor?) :P

mythbusters (if you've not seen the show, it's two special effects techs who try to disprove urban myths. Science, hilarity and pyrotechnics ensue.) There seem to be a lot of droolers - can Mythbusters slash be far behind?
Real life stuff: ordered my car mirror replacement today, so hopefully [crosses fingers] this will be one less thing hanging over my head.
The temperature has dropped, the wind is up, so of course my all of my muscles have clenched in an effort to keep warm. Stationary bike did little to loosen me up, so I may just have to snug on D. tonight ;)
Time to get my files and other junk in a semblance of order before bed...
