• Sean Connery must appear in the last Star Wars installment as a Jedi. It would just be SO PERFECT and might even make up for both of the tepid actors who played Anakin.
  
• Big Bird is clearly a CIA operative - how else did he keep Snuffalupagus covered up for so many years? That "oh, he was here a minute ago!" thing was clearly an act!
  
• The Institute of Draped Clothes is exceptionally cool - all this clothing to be made and you don't even have to lift a needle! Especially interested in the sari links.
  
  
  
  • Cholis (bottom of page) in bright prints might be fun for summer, but I'm not that keen to expose my midriff.
    
  
  
• I'm clearly about to go off on an extensive costume nrrding..

Your first suggestion got my mind wandering off to another idea... What if, instead of James Earl Jones, Sean Connery was the voice of Vader? I can't stop hearing Connery, in my head, saying "Perhaps you think you are being treated unfairly?", etc. :-)

Hmm... not sure it would be scary enough, but then I've never seen Sean Connery in a truly evil, intimidating role. I kinda pictured him as one of the good guys.

Still, I'm running over some of Darth Vader's lines in my head in Connery's voice, and it is kinda amusing:

"I find your lack of faith disturbing."

"I'd like to discuss the location of your hidden rebel base."

"He will join us or die, master."

Sean CONNERY!?!?!?!?!?!? Aaaack!~ Darth Vader in a Kilt, that's all I'll be able to think now. And the accent would do me in. Sorry, guys, I just can't see this one. I loved Sean Connery in his younger days but he's lost his appeal for me - don't know why - he's a fine actor. Oh well.....

Hot or not, I still think he'd be a great Jedi - I think he'd wear the brown robe well. And hiring a good actor would be a nice change for Lucas (sorry I'm beating a dead snark, but I just really HATED the latest Anakin Skywalker. Why would Queen Amidala or anyone else fall in love with that whiny brat?) :P

P.S. I vote for Sean Connery too ... one of those actors that I'll watch in anything, and I'm not alone in that ... my mother once told me that if I ever got my hands on him, I had to share =O

Tell your mom to get in line behind mine - she thinks he's all that and the proverbial bag of chips, right behind Robert Redford and Omar Sharif!

And yeah.... he's getting a bit long in the tooth but he still has a certain something. In "Entrapment" I found him a very plausible love interest for Catherine Zeta-Jones. He still got it, IMHO :)

Connery's sorta the male equivalent of Katherine Hepburn ... I suspect he'll have "it" when he's hobbling around with a Zimmer frame ;-) I remember seeing him in a pre-Bond film called On The Fiddle, playing a mildly mentally disabled man, and I'm sure even THAT role had him lusted after ;-)

Many many moons ago, my brother-in-law's mother, who can't stand Connery (what can I say except that she's WEIRD!!!), gave me his biography, with some notion that reading about him would cure me of liking him. Just the opposite of course ... reading about his childhood and youth just made me admire him even more. If I ever get a scanner, I'll share the photo of him (pre-acting career), wearing a bathing suit and representing Scotland in a Mr. Universe Competition (still had all his own curly hair then, too! ... )
