Stolen from [livejournal.com profile] indyansel:

  1. Nickname in high school?
One of my friends (or should I say, "friends"), called me "Allie" - I always hated that.

  2. Sport you were into?
    None.

  3. Had a circle of friends?
Sorta. Most were "friends of convenience" by senior year; I hung out with them because they we had similar taste in music and clothes and a shared sense of persecution (all of us were punk/goth/indie/skater kids). I did have one GOOD friend that I'm friends with to this day, but she moved sophomore year.

  4. Best subject?
Art and history, in that order. By senior year I'd taken every class in each that my HS had to offer, and took electives/teacher's aide to fill up the time.

  5. Worst subject?
    Chemistry - I barely passed.

  6. A teacher you owe life lessons to?
There was one teacher that I knew through my sister, though I never took a class from him. Not sure it was so much of a life lesson so much as he treated his students like individuals with valid thoughts of their own - he didn't teach regurgitation.

  7. A teacher you wanna kick in the ass?
    None really.

    Describe in one word...

  8. Freshman year: scary

  9. Sophomore year: enlightening (not in a good way)

  10. Junior year: tiresome

  11. Senior year: agonizing

  12. Your best friend was?
    C. I'm still friends with her today :)

  13. Your worst friend was?
    V. A "user", not good at being friends with anyone.

  14. Cafeteria food sucked?
Don't know - it never smelled good. I always brought my lunch.

  15. Most hilarious school rule?
New principal senior year was a NYC import who banned all "gang insignia" (like there were any in suburban Atlanta in the late '80s!). One day a group of students arranged to wear identical bandannas, just to tweak him :P

  16. Wore uniforms?
No, but in retrospect it might have been a good thing.

  17. How was the prom?
Didn't go. By senior year I was 18 and could get into 18+ clubs with better music and cooler people for a fraction of the cost. Why bother? (did I mention I was a terrific music snob in HS?)

  18. Who was prom king and queen?
    Don't know.

  19. Any achievements?
Got out without injuring myself or others; maybe showed in a few school art exhibits that I gratefully didn't actually have to make an appearance at (sorry about ending this sentence with a preposition. Maybe I should have paid more attention in English!).

  20. Were you popular?
    No.

  21. Best song that reminds you of high school?
Anything by Joy Division (so sad and so perfect, I love the band but cannot bear to hear them now). Probably 808 State's "Pacific" - it started me on the road away from my goth/punk/indie persona and well on the way to my college raver phase.

Seeble. To this day, there are very few people who can get away with calling me "Danny", although more than that I hated the assumption that my real name was "Daniel".

I think I hated "Allie" most because it was coined by my "friend" V. from #13 - and when I told her I didn't like it she didn't listen!

If you don't mind my asking, what IS your real first name? I ask only because I can't imagine "Danny" being short for anything BUT Daniel!
