Coming to a screen (whether computer, tv, or wide remains to be seen) near you: Star Wreck, tech-heavy fan parody of Star Trek and Babylon 5. According to the site it's been so popular on the web that a Canadian (of course!) company is looking into making a series. How they'll ever get past the copyright issues is beyond me!

Spoofs can get around a lot of copyright stuff ... provided that they acknowledge that they are spoofs and don't use anything directly from the source of inspiration. "Galaxy Quest" is a good example ... perfectly OBVIOUS to everybody which show was being made fun of (it was "Upstairs, Downstairs", right?), but perfectly legit because no names were named, no costumes copied, etc.
