still no sign of spring - how long is it?

I know it's not as cold here as it is elsewhere (tommdroid? electriccat?), but I have to say I'm getting terrifically sick of the un-regionally cold weather that's been here solidly for the past 2 weeks or so. I think today might be the first day over freezing in awhile, but it is forecast to plummet back down tonight.

I'm tired of cranking the heater until my skin is so dry it's shedding like a snake's, yet it's STILL too cold to sit comfortably in my living room without a blanket!

I'm tired of wearing clothes so bulky I can hardly move just to keep warm.

I'm tired of my hands being so cold and dry that it hurts to use them.

I'm tired of my sinuses being so dry that I have near constant headaches (yes, I have a humidifier, thankyewverymuch! It's doing squat!)

I want fresh air and green grass and smells again - am I the only person that notices the lack of odor during the wintertime? There's that "crisp" smell when it's about to snow, but nothing else - no fresh grass, no mulch, not even gasoline out in the parking lot. Hell, even pollen might be welcome at this point....

I'll live, I do every winter, I just wanted to get that out.

You LIKE the cold? You strange woman! :P

I do love summer though, but then, I'm always cold - I can wear long sleeves in July and not break a sweat.

I'm with you, Allison ... the cold-lovers are WEIRD!!!! ;-) Although I don't like excessive heat either ... I'm happiest between 24 and 28 degrees Celsius. Oh, and with the humidity not over-high ***giggles at Semmie's squinchy face***, not because I'm a sadist (I TOLD her where the humidifier was as soon as she mentioned it), but because the people who told me, in my teens, that my oily skin would dry out as I grew older LIED!!!! Humidity makes my skin feel, from the inside, as if I've been slathered with old, used motor oil ... ICKY!!!!!
