still no sign of spring - how long is it?

I know it's not as cold here as it is elsewhere (tommdroid? electriccat?), but I have to say I'm getting terrifically sick of the un-regionally cold weather that's been here solidly for the past 2 weeks or so. I think today might be the first day over freezing in awhile, but it is forecast to plummet back down tonight.

I'm tired of cranking the heater until my skin is so dry it's shedding like a snake's, yet it's STILL too cold to sit comfortably in my living room without a blanket!

I'm tired of wearing clothes so bulky I can hardly move just to keep warm.

I'm tired of my hands being so cold and dry that it hurts to use them.

I'm tired of my sinuses being so dry that I have near constant headaches (yes, I have a humidifier, thankyewverymuch! It's doing squat!)

I want fresh air and green grass and smells again - am I the only person that notices the lack of odor during the wintertime? There's that "crisp" smell when it's about to snow, but nothing else - no fresh grass, no mulch, not even gasoline out in the parking lot. Hell, even pollen might be welcome at this point....

I'll live, I do every winter, I just wanted to get that out.

Falun, Sweden today is a minus 25 Celcius, I've lost track of what that is in F, lets just say it is cold enough ;) here we go below freezing in October and come back up again in April/May. but then we do have warm houses with sufficient heating systems, all houses but mine that is ;)) plus 20 C indoors is standard.

and I love that crisp cold smell of winter and snow :))

I suffer from dry skin and dry eyes in the winter due to all the heating. especially here at the office. therefore I have alot of large potted plants in my room, the kind that requires alot of water. they keep the air moist and comfortable as long as I give them water every day.

today dawn occured at 09:00 and dusk is just setting in, at 14:32. we are indeed heading for summer :)))
