I know it's not as cold here as it is elsewhere ([livejournal.com profile] tommdroid? [livejournal.com profile] electriccat?), but I have to say I'm getting terrifically sick of the un-regionally cold weather that's been here solidly for the past 2 weeks or so. I think today might be the first day over freezing in awhile, but it is forecast to plummet back down tonight.

I'm tired of cranking the heater until my skin is so dry it's shedding like a snake's, yet it's STILL too cold to sit comfortably in my living room without a blanket!

I'm tired of wearing clothes so bulky I can hardly move just to keep warm.

I'm tired of my hands being so cold and dry that it hurts to use them.

I'm tired of my sinuses being so dry that I have near constant headaches (yes, I have a humidifier, thankyewverymuch! It's doing squat!)

I want fresh air and green grass and smells again - am I the only person that notices the lack of odor during the wintertime? There's that "crisp" smell when it's about to snow, but nothing else - no fresh grass, no mulch, not even gasoline out in the parking lot. Hell, even pollen might be welcome at this point....

I'll live, I do every winter, I just wanted to get that out.

I love winter and enjoy every minute of the 2 weeks that we get of it in Florida. Our winters linger around 60 degrees though. Tomorrow it's going to be in the 20s and 30s, which will be the coldest so far. I detest the heat and humidity that we have about 10 months a year. There really isn't much fluctuation here between spring, summer and fall unfortunately.

Grass is always greener...
