Well, he did it - D. cooked a fantastic turkey! I was surprised he knew how, but it turns out he actually paid attention in the kitchens of his youth and knew how to clean, baste, and season. This was his first time cooking one, but he did damned good! We have lots of leftovers, but this works out well - turkey sandwiches and stew upcoming!

Other food stuff: primavera potatoes are so dense they'll sit like a rock in your stomach, but they taste oh-so-good! Likewise with cornbread - many bad-for-you things consumed today, but we'll behave tomorrow - after the truffle brownies are gone. If you're near a Trader Joes, get this mix - dense, chocolatey, sinful, and Ghiradelli made the chips :) We were also good and had some steamed carrots and snow peas, so it's not as if we threw all rules of nutrition to the wind!

Screwed up my nerve and mailed the woman I used to volunteer for. Ever since forsaking fashion for computers I've lost track of her, and would like to catch up. Always makes me nervous having to initiate contact with old acquaintances; if it's been awhile I always wonder whether they really want to hear from me. Wish me luck.

Work tomorrow, but hopefully not high-impact, at least as almost no-one will be there. I'd be sorely tempted to take the day off, except I have no really good reason to do so, and someone needs to be there, just in case.
