In the next 48-72 hours I want to do the following:

  • organize/pay/mail bills*
  • prepare grocery list and grocery shop*
  • take car to get oil changed/otherwise weatherized*
  • do laundry*
  • particularly wash fencing gear tonight; must be dry by Sunday*
  • Edit some writing, perhaps write new stuff*
  • work on stays
  • repair fencing glove
  • read for pleasure (finally got hold of 1421)
  • party Saturday - remember to pick up food
  • rapier Sunday - remember to rest back in preparation
  • read/take notes from Hispanic Costume 1480-1530
  • clean out inbox; catch up on friends LJ comments
  • stuff around house - replace light bulb, dusting/cleaning, etc. D. might be able to help D. did help :)

Will probably add/edit as I remember things!

Also, somewhere in here must sleep - I've been so distracted/tired in the morning that I've tried to eat my breakfast oatmeal out of a plate twice :(
Update 11/8 3:50 pm: Slept until 1 today. True to form, had wonky, but good dreams :)

I'm interested in hearing your opinion once you've read 1421. It looks like it's a bit controversial.

I've only read the intro, but it has definitely piqued my curiosity! I have no problem believing that someone from the "Old World" got to the Americas before Columbus; what I find curious is the idea that an expedition of this size would leave so little trace behind that it's only being discovered now.

I'll keep you posted :)

Must be official "Read A Book With A Date For A Title" week ... I'm halfway through 1215

I certainly recommend it. Danziger's Year 1000 is also excellent.
