My email box revealed the goodie that Lip Service is re-issuing their "classic" dagger print line!

This tickled me to pieces because I remember lusting after the original run when I was a 14 year old with minimal pocket money, and being delighted that finally swank* gear like this and this were finally within reach (actually, scratch that last one - I need another hoodie like a hole in my head :P)

Then I realized:

• I'm old enough to see trends from my youth coming around again
  
• Said trends are old enough to be called "classic"
  

Ever feel a white hair at the moment it sprouts? Damn....

And on top of this, I'm working on the pastel pink (pastel! the humanity!) Regency stays in the basement. Times they are a' changin'!

Daily Addendum: went and voted in local elections. They're STILL using Diebold out here. Grrr....


*Yeah, I know it's poorly made, and 20 years on it's mall-rat gear. Don't care - call it nostalgia :P

No wonder no one votes in this country.

You may have a point - if it's this much of a pain in the ass, I can see where folks don't want to go all the way to the polls to waste valuable time and feel foolish!

Trust me though - the paper way is still the best way. My district has called for a review of Diebold and some security features (this should be in commentary to my original LJ entry), but evidently are still using the machines in the meantime :(

You know, it seems to me that if this country is going to take the responsibility for bringing democracy to the world, maybe we ought to, like, I dunno, have it here first? Those diebold machines are a joke, the whole hanging chad thing is a joke, Anyone who thinks their vote is going to be counted correctly is kidding themself.

I want to know how much my vote is counting if the results are in early enough for printing the next morning when my ballot has to be checked to see if I'm legitimately at my address and didn't vote somewhere else. How quickly can they possibly have entered everyone's names to check against?

I'm happy because the initiative I cared about (fixing cages at the zoo) passed by a lot so my vote was probably irrelevant anyway but I did my part for the elephants and tigers anyway.
