Today I went to the maul to look at some prospective gifts.

Evidently the Official Shopping Season has already started, as there were wrapping tables and cheesy Christmas music everywhere.

It was like being in hell.

As it is, none of the stores had what I was trying to look at. I will take my chances and order it online.

Not sure what is up for Thanksgiving yet. Some of it will rest on what D. wants to do; some will also rest on whether I feel better.

I came home early yesterday with a sore throat that did not appear to be improving. Normally I would have stayed at work, gallantly suffering in the name of Productivity. But lately I've decided that Productivity for the Man should take a back seat to Health for Me.

I am feeling better - sore has given way to scratchy and I am hoping its nothing more exotic than allergies. I am eating echinacea like candy and trying to rest.

Rather incredibly I have reasonably solid ideas of what I want to get for people this year.

No cheesy Christmas music, just cheesy Top-40 crap, but they were taking pictures with Santa tonight at the Dulles Maul. *twitch* I'm old enough to remember when Xmas stuff wasn't out until the day after Thanksgiving, and I liked it like that. *grump* Bah, humbug. (I do actually like Christmas and all the attendant crapola that goes with it, but I like it confined to a particular time of year. I do not want to see Christmas decorations up in October.)
