I couldn't make this shit up (stolen from Atrios' Eschaton):

Note: I KNOW that not all Christians are Fundamentalists, and I know that the majority of this country considers these types of views nutty at best. No, what disturbs me is that these crazies have far more politial and social influence than their numbers warrant.

I'd also like to point out that in framing the current war in religious terms, he really is helping the terrorists. Just what we need, fundie vs. fundie playing Armageddon with the rest of the world!

Legally, there IS separation of church and state - I meant what I said about fundamentalists being in the minority. However, they are very organized and very noisy, and so get a lot of press and influence.

And yes, the distinct lack of Bin Laden or Sadaam Hussien (or at least their bodies) has not gone unnoticed :(
