back trouble, oh yeah
Oct. 16th, 2003 06:41 pmMy lower back has been a festering problem all week. I think the cooling weather may not be helping - a massage therapist friend of mine advised me that muscles tend to contract involuntarily when they're cold. Lucky me, I get cold so frickin' easily....
I'm off to fencing tonight anyway, as I find that the movement loosens me up and club is physically the most comfortable time of the week for me - I'm sweating and my hamstrings are not grateful, but everything else works.

Date: 2003-10-16 05:15 pm (UTC)Very true. That's why people associate stiff muscles, especially back, neck, and shoulders, with sitting in a draft ... those muscles tend to tense up and stay tensed when exposed to cool/cold air and they're also the most difficult to notice when they are tensed, especially for we poor deskbound types (another reason to ban extra-frigid air conditioning!). Hope the workout helps.
