weekend with costumers, etc.
Aug. 25th, 2003 10:12 pmThe ICG meet was very good :) It's an informal group, which works well as I don't tend to rigid-group well. Everyone seems to be a costume "cross-trainer", in other words, most people have done a bit of everything - science fiction, historical, art to wear, etc. The VP makes fangs - very realistic ones! - in his spare time. The beautiful thing is that we all laugh delightedly instead of wince in horror when he tells us stories of wearing them to work to scare his co-workers! And we all lament that there aren't more hours in the day for sewing. They get it - and it's nice to be around people who make sense in this way, especially considering that my costuming pursuits go on in a void most of the time.
Sunday it cooled off enough to open the windows - it didn't even get to 80F. And the curious thing was that I liked it! Normally I dread the fall of Fall like the plague, but after a few weeks of hot and sticky it really was a relief! Back to the inferno today, but I suspect it won't last - I heard geese Saturday morning, and I am guessing they are a little more tuned in to nature's rhythms than I am!
Got up very early for the dentist and then had to run errands after work, leaving me tired, grumpy, and feeling like I'm on the ever-accelerating treadmill yet again :( Really a rather depressing end to a good couple of days :( At the very least, I was able to finish some correspondence and get a Half.com ready to go out tomorrow.
I need a pedicure like no-ones business - I feel like I'm growing hooves down there! I'm taking bets as to whether it will happen this week!
