For some reason it felt as though this week would never end! Work has been quiet, save some tiny breakthroughs with ASP.Net, and it seems I've accomplished little at home.

Cool Link: Things Magazine - a paper magazine put out by the Victoria and Albert Museum, the site seems to be mostly their blog about the material world ([livejournal.com profile] ragdoll, be sure and scroll dowon for the link about Paul McCartney's "double"). Gathers some interesting stuff, think I'll keep it bookmarked.

Another Link: Back to the Future: The nostalgic yet progressive appeal of wizards, hobbits, and Jedi knights - an essay analyzing the appeal of the Star Wars, LOTR, and Harry Potter movies. Nothing new covered, but it's nice to have it all in one place.

Secretary
You must like to spank or be spanked, because your
romance is remeniscent of Secretary. A truly
modern love story, it shows that you don't need
to be conventional to be normal. You're
probably the type that owns a whole lot more
leather than what's upholstering your car or
sofa. Yeah, you know what I mean.

Plans for the weekend: mine and D.'s 6th wedding anniversary tomorrow (!!!), then hopefully some sewing, writing, and cleaning/maintenance. Still busily throwing away old magazine clippings, I can see the guest bed again!

Heh.

The Princess Bride
I'm sure it's no big surprise to you that your
romance is The Princess Bride. A heartwarming
tale of "Twue Wuve" that has giants,
Spainards and swashbuckling. You really do
think that love can overcome anything. You may
be a touch naive but your heart is certainly in
the right place. You've probably got one of
those relationships where proper nouns have
been replaced with "Snookums" and
"Pookie Pie". Eww. Beware a cuteness
overload.

When Harry Met Sally

This one was too bizarre to pass up (I rarely take these quizzes). They're right ... fell in love with buddy and was lucky enough to have buddy feel the same way. Now the big question is: Will buddy get the same answer? :-P

"Everyone remembers the 'faked-orgasm-in-a-deli' sequence from your kind of movie When Harry Met Sally. It seems that you're falling for a buddy or have already fallen for them. Uh-oh. You're probably caught between the possibility of having a great relationship and wrecking the one you have now. You know what they say, it's better to regret something you did than something you didn't do."

Congradulations on your 6th Anniversary!
I took the quiz and could not believe the movie that best represents my love life:

Your romance is more of a love that needs to bloom within, just like Hedwig of Hedwig and the Angry Inch. The film features an East German transsexual who is seeking her "other half" after constant betrayal. You must love yourself before you can need another. You're starting to realize this, along with the fact that you don't need a significant other to be a complete person. Your "other half" has been inside you all along.

I loved this movie! Plus it ties into my fascination with transgenders. Can't wait to see what Tim's quiz results will be!

"You must remember this, a kiss is still a kiss". Your romance is Casablanca. A classic story of love in trying times, chock full of both cynicism and hope. You obviously believe in true love, but you're also constantly aware of practicality and societal expectations. That's not always fun, but at least it's realistic. Try not to let the Nazis get you down too much.
