anotheranonIn the attempt to finish some costume projects and start others, I went out in search of notions today. No, no fabric binging, but I did discover some goodies for the future.
Accent Beads, for one. These guys are in the local warehouse district, a little sign and door that you'd never notice if you weren't looking for it. Not much in the way of findings, but as far as gemstone beads their prices and selection beat Bedazzled out of the water! Right under my nose for years and it took a recommendation to get me to go, so I'm passing it on - go! Many shiny things!
I was good - I got what I needed (hollow tube beads to serve as aiglets for lacing corsets/kirtles), but I will DEFINITELY be back. Every conceivable color and size of freshwater pearls... if I ever decide to make my fantasy reproduction of the Ditchley portrait I've found a decent source for them!
Also hit G Street - again, just for lacing supplies - but was happy to see that they DO have blush pink dupioni when I'm able to afford it.
