feline update
Jul. 19th, 2003 05:57 pmPoor little thing! Kisia was throwing up liquid most of the morning, and when she meowed pitifully before vomiting some very foul-smelling liquid, we decided it was time to go to the vet. Luckily ours has Saturday hours so we went in at around 11.
The nice vet took stool samples and an x ray. Kisia has no infections, her x-ray showed no intestinal knotting or other contortions, no obvious foreign bodies (no pins, thank goodness!), and she didn't have a fever.
The vet suggests she may have simply eaten something that didn't agree with her, or may be trying in vain to cough up a large furball.
They gave her some subcutaneous fluids and a Pepcid AC shot and we brought her home. If she's still this listless Monday we will probably take her in again for some blood work. Right now she's hiding in a variety of small dark places and hopefully resting, as I don't think she's slept well since yesterday.
I don't know what to do - D. and I are trying not to bother her too much because we WANT her to sleep, but we do need to try and get her to drink some water at least. Meanwhile I'm scouring the floors for loose thread, pins, and other nasties. And waiting, because that's about all we can do right now.
