Today I tried to take care of all necessities before Snowpocalypse III: Snoverload landed: I managed to drop off rent check and hit the grocery (again!), on foot because the roads here are still hazardous - none of the plowing has gone down to the pavement so everything is coated in a few inches of ice and snow that are tightly packed but still slippery.
As I type, even MORE of the white stuff is falling down, with predicted 50+ mph winds forecast. Con: more snow. Pro: perhaps the wind will blow it into drifts and off of my car (?)
I stayed away from the computer yesterday to make a dent in the
vest (view D) and make a final attempt at digging my car out of last week's snow. I can now open the driver's side door and the rear wheels are mostly freed - digging out the front half would necessitate dumping the surplus into my neighbors' yards, and I feared this a bit rude (what IS the etiquette for snow removal, anyway? It's not like we usually get tons of it here so I genuinely don't know).
Being indoors this much lights a desire to bake, and I got the ingredients for massive chewy chocolate chip cookies. And they are huge, and tasty, but dense as a black hole - I may never eat again.
I'll try and get some photos of the epic sewing binge results up tonight or tomorrow (I'm strongly suspecting work will be closed again).
Don't get me wrong - I like having days off as much as anyone else. What I'm tired of is digging, waiting, digging, waiting.
