Making notes now so I'll know how much tizzying to expect next time I plan international travel:
Surprisingly, not much inner control freaking turmoil. Moved $ in accounts around, check (after advising bank of same, check); setting mailing lists to nomail, check; getting out suitcase and starting to pack, check.
Remembering to breathe and that apart from some bare essentials (prescriptions/passport), I can get anything I need/forget once I get there.
Take mountains of echinacea/vitamin c/handy wipes for the plane trip. Can't hurt and might help me avoid the flu/cold from hell I got last time I was on a transatlantic flight (England, '99).
I speak little of the language and what I have is tripping over my ancient French. No matter - I know "espresso", "scusi", and "bankomat".
