I swear, sometimes I think I must have been a starving kid in [insert country here] in a former life because it has always grated on me whenever I throw something "perfectly good" (or not) out. This gut reaction isn't enough to stop me completely though - the fruit and veg that regularly go bad before I get to it is embarrassing.
We do try to eat leftovers and I always shop with a grocery list (always have but stick to it even more closely with the rising prices), and I have vague fantasies of gardening/composting if we ever own a place with the space to do so, but I'm a creature of habit/convenience and have to admit that I doubt I'd want to put forth the effort (assuming I could conquer my brown thumb in the first place) :/
