I (wanna) see dead people.....

No, really - I missed this exhibit when it traveled north of here as "Body Worlds" and I'm not going to miss it a second time!

Anyone wanna go see some (plastinated) dead bodies this summer?

Fencing tonight - started out with drills against one of the best fencers in the club and.. actually did ok. My point control is wonky; part of this is because I insist on using a french rather than pistol grip, but dammit, 1) I've yet to meet a pistol grip that I find comfortable, and 2) I've invested a lot of time and $ in fencing with a french grip, so I'm determined to make it work!

Also witnessed a challenge against said fencer by someone lower down the "ladder" - its an informal competition thing the club has going whereby lower ranked fencers can challenge higher ones to see how they do. I'm not participating because frankly I don't think I'm good enough to challenge anyone yet!

But, I am still improving - lunging lower and recovering faster than I think I've ever done before, and still working on getting all that terminology through my thick skull.

But no more tonight. I am tired, and stinky, and all the pollen is making my eyes feel like there are cement blocks on my retinas. And so to bed...

Thanks to all for the discussion about the Pern books - didn't know it would get such a response! I've decided to finish "Dragonflight" (if the library will let me keep it that long) and then see what I think before dismissing the series as "not my thing".
