sword notes
Apr. 7th, 2006 06:09 pmGot new shiny blade, gave whole weapon to my coach because I put it together at the wrong angle and he needs to tilt the blade inwards 15% anyway, and needs a vise to do this. I feel curiously at a loss without it, even though I technically only need it once a week.
So, fenced last night with one of the club's blades and while I did ok, it's embarrassing that 1) after 5 years, I can't identify a right-handed French grip on sight, and 2) that my performance relies so heavily on my comfort with the weapon - I really should be able to pick up any right handed French grip weapon and use it successfully :/
Tomorrow I'm heading out to the women's foil competition at this event to how the people who really own the strip fence!
There will probably be vending. If there's a reasonably priced electric foil there, I hope my wallet can forgive me :P
