fandom is funny

Someone is impersonating Cuddy over at the "Gregory House" LJ. This amuses the crap out of me, that one person gets so "into character" that it inspires others to play along :P Kind of like dressing up to go to Renn Faire, in a way. Reminds me of some of the Empire memorandum commentary over at Darth Vader's blog.

Though, of course, for all I know that's a friend of "House"'s and the journal is some kind of in-joke carried out in public.

Further thought - House would make an excellent doc for Darth, if he could avoid getting his trachea crushed.

A happy birthday to plaidsheep! I fear I've missed most of it but I hope it was a good one :)

I am stupid

My math triumph was short lived.

Turns out I was so thrilled about "midterm over - yay spring break!" that I completely failed to notice that for this online class, spring break didn't in fact translate to "no homework". It just meant, "no quiz this week".

In an incredible feat of test-taking bullshittery, I raced through the class materials and managed to pass this evening's quiz. However, it does mean I'm doing 2 weeks worth of homework this week :/

I do not see myself fencing tomorrow, even if my new blade shows up :(

On the other hand, doing annuities/amortizations has revealed the TI's finance function, and it's just sweet!

Tangential, but not unrelated: D. and I both need a Jeeves. A full-service old-school English butler who will remember our appointments, plan dinner, keep us on schedule, and lay our clothes out in the morning.

Maybe not Stephen Fry Jeeves - too tall, I don't know where we'd put him. Maybe a mini-Jeeves, to store under the bed when we don't need him.
