Sep. 20th, 2005 10:10 pmRevelation: statistics is (are?) hard. I've spent the past 3 days just trying to read and fully understand a single chapter. Raced to get the homework done tonight and I STILL need to finish some work before I move on :/
I enjoy the challenge though. Back in college I'd get frustrated to tears at anything that required this much effort, now I'm just intrigued. Standard deviations are quite logical, once you wrap your head around them (I'm pretty sure)!
Pop Culture: Even newer, bigger, badder Harry Potter trailer up (Windows Media format). Can I get a "squee!!!"?
Books: Had planned and am still tentatively planning to go to the National Book Festival to hear Neil Gaiman speak/read, but as the Mall is scheduled to be swamped with protestors I feel my enthusiasm diminishing. No problem with the protest philosophically but I imagine it will be an uphill battle to get anywhere near Gaiman's tent!
Health: did the upper body workout, on the stability ball, around 8 lbs each hand. Not sure whether it's good or bad, but now my stitches are... itching. Usually that means healing up so I'm going to hope that's what it is :P I'm undecided re: fencing on Thursday - I'll definitely go, but I'm not sure I'll suit up and hit the strip.
Sewing: finished cutting out the coat. Marking tomorrow evening.
Sleeping: not nearly enough! Not sure where I'm going with this post (patchy internet all evening tends to break one's train of thought) so I think I'll head to bed...
