exercise post
Aug. 17th, 2005 08:09 amDid this lower body workout last night while watching Teaching Company calculus videos (look ma, I'm multitasking!)
Results: MAN, could I feel the strain last night, and this only with 11 lb dumbells (11 each - I was using 2)! The crunches weren't as difficult, but I was doing these previously so that's to be expected.
I didn't expect to be able to walk this morning but I suffer only when I try to kneel down or walk down stairs (good thing work is all on one level). It definitely makes one aware of one's muscles and how/where they work.
I would advise making sure that your knees are directly over your shins for the squats - I'm guessing that if you turn your knees outwards or inwards this exercise could really hurt!
I'll do the upper body section tonight, but may replace rows with pushups as I find these work subtly different muscles that are better for fencing.
