stolen from wcg - if you're not watching the new Battlestar Galactica, you should be! )

Did a research and asking around about the replica sword - it's looking like this is a reasonably good replica of an early 16th c. English cut/thrust "proto-rapier" - single-handed basket hilt like a rapier, but blade heavy enough to hold it's own against a two-handed longsword-type weapon. It weighs a ton - ok, only 3 lbs, but it feels like at least ten when I extend my arm! Given that the person who sold it to me told me that a lot of guys looked at it and passed it over after being intimidated by the size [snerk!] I'm bound and determined to be able to lunge with this thing, at least on the right....

O, for a bottomless wallet! Sneaking through old favorite Gallery Serpentine/Dead Tech and new discoveries Xenoware and Authentic Wardrobe (the latter two I don't even NEED to be looking at - I can make that shit, and in my size as well!)

I have been doing productive things as well - I've started watching "Where There's a Will There's an A", a set of videos about better study habits - best to be prepared, I figure. Also finally making some headway on the corset, after a couple of weeks of stalling.

I'm trying to have a relatively slow week; the only thing I've got planned is fencing on Thursday as usual. Next weekend I'm trying to get together a group of friends to accompany me to an exhibit of 1940s fashion from FIT, and it seems like April weekends are filling up as well.

Tired, but not overwhelmingly so. I need to start getting to bed on time ("on time" being before 11:30).

Star Wars: Revelations trailer (link included for completion but is slashdotted; mirrors here and here). A fan film of such stunning technological prowess that I can't bring myself to make the stereotypical guffaws about over-obsessed fans: the trailer really does look good, and I'm prepared to excuse poor acting on the grounds that the acting in both prequels has been disappointing, despite the incredible cast (Lucas wasted the talents of Natalie Portman, Ewan McGregor, Samuel L. Jackson, etc. But both of the actors playing Anakin have sucked, royally).
