Feb. 5th, 2005 11:12 pmBeen perusing Fabric By The Yard and MJ Trends in anticipation of imagined future costumes. The latter especially helpful as my old PVC supplier seems to have shut and I tend to get a bit antsy if I don't know where my next vinyl is coming from :P
Speaking of which, I basted all layers of the PVC corset together today; tomorrow I hope to cut the binding (long strips of black vinyl selvedge) tomorrow.
Went out to coffee with a fencing buddy to the nearby Mayorga location; we both concluded that their customer relations are far, far superior to that of Starbucks - they asked K. if they could steam her sugar with her espresso so it would caramelize correctly. THAT'S service!
It looks like my book group isn't meeting tomorrow; silly me set the date without realizing that it's Superbowl weekend (d'oh)! Not the best weekend to try and plan anything other than barbecues. I canceled rather than wade through the awkwardness of too few interested this week, thanks...
D. and I are going to try out some new recipes this week as he's getting sick of rice with every meal and I figure we're both going to burn out on quasi-Indian one of these days. One of the recipes requires ketchup, and realizing that we are probably the only household in the country that doesn't keep a perpetual supply, I added it to the grocery list :P
My eyes and hands are tired from sewing so I think I should probably step away from the screen just now. I know I have writing pending; hopefully tomorrow after my fingers rest!
