weirder than Canada: the boy with the girl for a hand

Found this over at gblake's feed: Midori no Hibi. Synopsis:

Based on the popular manga! Midori no Hibi is about Sawamura Seiji, a.. um... "bad" high school student...All that changes when suddenly one morning, he wakes up, and his right hand is... A GIRL?! Talk about complications. The girl's name is Kasugano Midori and was secretly in love with Seiji since a long time ago (she still likes him now!) How will things turn out for this awkward "couple"?

For the record, I have only a very passing familiarity with anime of any kind; this may be a completely normal plotline in this genre but somehow, I doubt this. jlsjlsjls, I think I've found a rival in weirdness to "Puppets Who Kill", no?

Actually, I've never seen it, but I'm unaccountably fascinated - anyone know where you can rent such a thing?

The existence of the TLAP holiday begs the question, of course - how to celebrate? Here we are in April so there's plenty of time to plan. Of course there's the traditional route of tree with little cutlasses, fakey plastic eyepatches, and the mandatory Jolly Roger plastered on the front door, but let's think big - I'm thinking seafood boilup, exchanging gold teeth, the traditional bottle o'rum and comparing swank outerwear (jacket shown not actual size), followed by the repeated keelhauling of the politician of our choice....
