You are Columbian Vintage. You are connected spiritually with the Maya civilization. You must visit the pyramid in San Felipe, Columbia. Really, go now... you are late. Xtopxlotle is waiting by the steps.

Because as we know, coffee has great personality...

Actually, I'm fairly uncaffinated today. For some unaccountable reason I was awake at 8:30 (!), so I got up and exercise biked/lifted dumbells. Not a bad way to start out in the cool of the early morning, especially as it got up to 90F (!) by noon (I won't go into how cracked out it is that I had to run the heat Thursday night and now I've switched over to A/C...)

Adventures in Malldania: Went to Victoria's Secret to use a gift card. I am finding that this is one of the few shops in any suburban shopping mall that I still care to visit - "shopping" (verb) has become a teeth-grindingly frustrating experience.

Nothing really new there - working retail for 3 years was enough to cure me of the lure of the "maul", but in additon my sartorial priorities have changed. Maybe it's age, maybe it's getting spoiled by making my own clothes or the delightful concoctions on view at Costume Con and similar, but store windows don't hold the allure and luster that they used to - I don't even feel tempted to go in and look. Even attractively draped, I know that whatever I'm seeing will be out of style in a year or so assuming it's poor manufacture even lets it last that long.

Not only do I not like much of what is available, in the past year or so I've learned I don't need most of it either. Professional clothing for work (I'm not that concerned about how trendy I am at the office), and mostly jeans and t shirts for weekends. Embarrassing it is to admit, even though I love good tailoring and unusual details, most of my casual wear is from the Gap or Old Navy <blush!> Part of this is my own budget limitations but also the fact that much as I might love my vinyl pants or velvet smoking jacket, I don't often have anywhere to wear my more cutting edge duds. At this stage if I have anything really cool I'd like to also have the pleasure and satisfaction of researching and building it myself.

My remaining clothing vices: funky tees, shoes, and lingerie, mostly because I can't make them efficiently. Yet ;) Gimme a decade or so...
