this is why I don't read the news
Jun. 27th, 2002 10:42 pmOne step forward, 3 steps back appears to be the new rule:
Dubya sez: "America is a nation that values our relationship with an Almighty. Declaration of God in the Pledge of Allegiance doesn't violate rights. As a matter of fact, it's a confirmation of the fact that we received our rights from God, as proclaimed in our Declaration of Independence." Funny, I thought I recieved my rights from the Constitution, but I guess I've been deluding myself. Whoops, no more Constitution, so I guess I have none at all. </sarcasm>
In other uptight news:
Supreme Court Upholds School Vouchers - goodie! I get to watch my tax dollars go towards religious institutions that sure as hell don't need my hard earned cash...
Supreme Court Upholds School Drug Tests - just to make sure that public schools are even closer to the police state we'll all be living in if this sort of shit continues....
Excuse the excessive bitching but I think I'm justified. That, and I watched "Pump Up the Volume" last night and am inspired to be particularly vehement.
