D. and I went to see "Gosford Park" on Friday. He's been on a real P.G. Wodehouse kick and thought this sounded like something along his current train of thought.

Very good - sort of a English drawing room/Agatha Christie old style murder mystery. Great cast, ambience, and costumes (yes, shoot the predictable visual geek).

Caving to massive pressure from our tastebuds we ordered fantastic Italian from Mamma Lucia's last night. It was very very good, but left a gooey/nasty aftertaste that I don't remember from before. I guess I really am getting un-used to pasta and heavy cheese.

Going to try and hit G Street at lunch and the grocery tonight (which I forgot to go to yesterday - I think the cold and wind helped me "forget", to a large degree :/)

Wearing the Donna Karan wrap shirt/skirt as a top today. I may have to check out this fabric more often - poly/rayon is warm like poly but not sticky like so many polys are.

Gahh! Gotta get my mind on work and out of the sewing basket...

Warning, not for the squeamish: An entire exhibit of bodies preserved by "plastination", replacing all body fluids with polymers. Sounds gross, and probably is to some degree, but fascinating. You get to see live and in person how everything under the skin works and is put together.

Is it art? Debatable, but it is certainly a good anatomy lesson. There has been substantial controversy about the exhibit wherever it's been shown so its not entirely sure if it will ever come to the states.

I guess my interest in something like this is similar to my interest in mummification and epidemiology - I can't explain it.
