“You go, girl. Someday, when I’m sixty-six, I’m going to run an ad like yours.”

Old news (and I've not read the book [yet?]), but I want to throw this article at all the people I've met who think that everyone over 50 should just curl up and wait to die. How unoriginal!

In a way, this woman reminds me of my grandmother and great-aunt. Their great passion was travel, and they did a LOT of it. My grandmother visited Europe for the first time in her 80s. My great-aunt had visited every state and had a huge 90th birthday party on a cruise to Alaska.

Here's to people who keep going!

Damn, that's cool!

Thanks for posting the link...it's inspirational. When I'm 67, I want to be that big-hat-wearing, freaky aunt that everyone dreads having at their wedding and all the kids think is delightfully shocking.

I always take comfort in the fact that Stella Mary Newton, costume historian extraordinaire, started her writing career at 70.

Damn, that's cool!

Oh, I plan to be the ultimate insane cat lady!

Very inspiring point about Ms. Newton - makes me realize that just because I didn't get it done when I was in my 20s doesn't mean it will never happen!
