various links
Mar. 20th, 2003 10:21 pmThe Agonist - good for up to the second war news, but this guy types so fast he doesn't always provide reference links. Useful, nonetheless.
Warblogs.cc - decent one stop shop for war news, but pulls content from only a limited number of sources.
The BBC Reporters' Collective War Log - also the Beeb's in-depth coverage is pretty impressive, including maps, analysis, and even personnel/equipment information.
However you feel about troops being sent to Iraq, iff troops MUST be sent in, this speech is possibly the best instruction they could have.
Between coding I read war news much of the day. Around 3 pm I realized that very little new information was being posted anywhere, and it was becoming overwhelming anyway.
I've not watched any of the tv coverage. I think that would push me over the edge into oversaturation, to see it live, in color, in motion, etc.
I read my usual mailing lists and went to fencing - it's nice that there are some forums that haven't even made mention of the war - going on with their subject matter like nothing is happening. Which I guess is the point, in a way - if we let this paralyze us, we've lost already.
I'm tired and a bit down and very damp.
