Feb. 23rd, 2003 08:59 pmLast night we went to the Arthur Loves Plastic release party for her latest CD "Nadir" (blatant plug - get it, it is excellent). It was at a small college planetarium and was quite cozy. There was a lo-tech laser show that seemed to be the slightest bit off center until I realized that it was directed right over the North Star, and that the entire "sky" pivoted around that one point. Somehow watching it revolve over and over around Polaris was just very, very relaxing.
We caught up with folks a bit and drove home one of ALPs assistants, a cool person with lots to say :)
Sewing circle was cancelled because G.'s basement flooded, leaving her to spend most of the day with buckets and a pump :( I decided to take advantage of the time and try to pick up lining/interfacing for the upcoming sewing project. Jo-Ann's didn't have what I needed, and Hancock's was closed, with lots of condensation on the insides of their windows, probably another victim of flooding or a collapsed roof due to melting snow. I'll leave this till a later date, and hopefully I won't have to get these basic supplies from G Street - for classes and unique fabrics they can't be beat, but as far as the basics go you can get gouged.
I had a dream last night about jogging down a long traffic-less avenue in a park. The trees were lush and green, the sky was blue, and the weather JUST the right temperature. I think I'm dreaming of spring because the weekend was full of fog, wind, and rain and I'm just about sick of it.
