I never did end up turning on the tv to see more about Columbia. I just couldn't.

Instead I spent much of the weekend participating in a "writing party" on one of the mailing lists I am on. Fun, but brain-draining to think of new twists to the plot every couple of hours.

I also decided that I was going to go in search of some exotic foodstuffs - Indian cooking sauces, good whole-grain bread, and those delicious Vidalia green onions that I only found that one time. Found 2 out of 3, and made some chicken vindaloo for dinner tonight. Just a wee bit too hot, but VERY, very tasty - definitely going to do that one again!! In the process I also discovered a good ethnic grocery right behind my house. I didn't recognized most of the items, but it all smelled incredible, so I will be going there again.

In the past few months I've developed a taste for the mildly warm and spicy that I never had before. I it was boredom with my current recipes and the discovery of decent frozen spicy dinners (Ethnic Gourmet, only at the local Giant). I'm not ready to torch my tastebuds but waking them up has been interesting.

I finished the tabbed stays (yes!) and started to cut out pieces for a kimono, only to learn I need lining material - dammit! It is a long kimono, and I was wanting to do something knee length to wear as a dress with an obi, rather like the one on the left. Now I'm rethinking this - I'm using a cotton, so maybe a full length robe for around the house would be in order.

I think I may also be becoming ill, suffering a sore throat that refuses to go away. Eating the echinacea, etc.

My mind is shot.
