anotheranonVisited the interim fencing club with only one other member of my usual club (the others - losers! - missed out!).
I'd heard that this club was very competitive and intimidating, but that's not what I saw tonight - everyone was very friendly and welcoming. Some offered to loan me their electric fencing equipment, but as all the other folks there were doing epee I declined. It was fun to watch them bout though - one woman in particular won constantly. Turns out she competed nationally/internationally for years.
Because everyone else was fencing epee, I was only able to fence the other person I carpooled with. We both hope we can get more people for next week, though I'm not sure how we'd carpool. My car holds 4 people, but I'm sure my trunk can't accomodate 4 bags of fencing equipment
