anotheranonIn the realization that I am better off researching than sewing at this time of year, I've finally found proof that not every woman wore white during the years 1800-1820.
Having said this, I'd have to find a natural fiber velvet that would drape correctly and ixnay on the sheer ruff-looking thing (though I do like the puffed sleeves). Another option might be something like this (both links from Jessamyn's Regency Costume Companion).
I had been thinking of trying the 1796-1800 semi-nude fad (Chapel Perilous French revolution costume guide), but I need more support/coverage than that!
