Oct. 23rd, 2002 09:36 pmSo far fall has been good to me. Or rather, maybe I'm just not reacting as badly as usual to the season. Incredibly, I find that I don't feel as cold as I usually do when the temperature finally drops for good. At the very least, I'm not constantly hunching over and tensing every muscle in a painful attempt to try and keep warm. Maybe exercise has had the long-term effect of actually making my blood move. Of course, the time changing this weekend could throw everything off. My sun lamp has been set up for several weeks, just in case.
The sniper is still at large. My parents called tonight and asked about it. It is still an insane situation, but.. well, what CAN you do, really? It's all totally random so apart from keeping your eyes open it's not like there is much that anyone can do to prevent themselves from being in the line of fire. I do have to admit though, that I was nervous posting mail and stopping at the ATM today.
D. and I have finally finished the riveting Ken Burns Civil War miniseries that we've been watching in pieces for the past week or so. No, I'm not a sudden Civil War buff, but this documentary is even handed, articulate, clear but detailed. Definitive, even.
Dad goes in for thymus removal surgery on Monday. He is in good health and this is routine compared to what he's been through. Hopefully this will help stabilize his condition.
