Not a bad weekend - the first in awhile that I really just relaxed.
Friday night: friend's birthday party at an old-fashioned pub (happy birthday B.!). Ate and chilled with friends (yummy fish and chips). Indulged small MAC attack on way home from work (not my fault.. it was just THERE).
Saturday: Picked up art supplies and sunscreens (ah, sunscreen - the only proven anti-wrinkle cream out there). Wrote a bit, caught up on email. Painted toenails chrome (shiny, shiny!!). Did laundry. Cleaned up sewing space a bit (I can now see the cutting table). Read (swinging sixties book).
Sunday: Read (blissful silence, hours on end!!) Drew some (trying not to get discouraged by my efforts) and did some calligraphy (writing cue cards at work this week brought home how shockingly bad my handwriting is). Burned disc of Shelby Foote's audio books on the Civil War (recommended). Watched "Scooby Doo" with D. (2 hours of our lives we will never get back).
This sounds frightfully dull and quiet and is, but in a good way - most weekends I can be found trying to do all the umpteen things I don't have time for on weekdays, squeezed in between whatever the current sewing project is, cooking, grocery shopping, etc. Nah, this weekend I decided "screw it" and relaxed. And it was GOOD.
I successfully avoided news all weekend, but found on CNN a few minutes ago that there's been another shooting and the sniper left a message at this one. Hopefully this stupidity will lead to his being caught.
