- Read - finished book on the history of Freemasonry (recommended - highly credible theory as to origins) and started book on the Swinging Sixties in London (groovy, baby, so far - fun, easy read)
- Discovered that long, colorful, Dr. Who-type scarves are the trend this year in some quarters. What do you think the odds are of me finding one with question marks on it though?
- Did updates to my freelance website
- Decorated for Halloween! Got out my plug-in jack o'lantern, skeleton garland, and black and white bow with ghosts on it. I also picked up some fall silk flowers when I was at Michaels' (I like the look of flowers but don't usually keep the real thing around because of curious cats)
- Called friend for birthday
- Slept - reading and napping all day Saturday!
- Turned on the heat for the first time this season (I kept telling myself it's not cold, it's just "brisk". Or "crisp". But my extremities didn't believe it).
- Made and ate quick Brunswick stew (empty cans, simmer an hour) - filling and tasty
What I didn't manage to get done:
- Extended conversation with birthday friend
- Geneological lookup for Dad
- D.C. area costume/historical research for Costume College buddy
- More sleep

Date: 2002-10-14 08:41 pm (UTC)Paper cutouts of black cats, ghosts, witches, and other fun things in the windows.
Cardboard cutouts of the above on sticks in the yard.
A string web with a felt/plush/something spider in the middle of it (now I know why I had nightmares about bugs and spiders last night!)
But, the coup de grace is the stuffed witch "splatted" headfirst into the front of their house whilst riding her broomstick.
Astounding. Can't wait to see the cutout turkeys and pilgrims next month...
