The BBotE site doesn't say a lot about the extraction process, understandably, apart from "cold vacuum extraction." There's nothing too tricky about that. Imagine a funnel, with funnel paper, filled with coffee beans. Now set it on a flask, and put cold water in the top. Nothing too exotic yet. The uncommon part is that some flasks are set up such that you can attach a vacuum pump to them. This helps suck the water down through the filter/funnel and into the flask. It's way faster than waiting for gravity to do the trick. That's pretty much all "cold vacuum extraction" means in this case.
