• 09:34:06: Cat soiled guest bed necessitating time/effort consuming cleanup. Am beyond angry. What is left of weekend calm is destroyed.

We've had so many messy inconviences over the years we just say, "Oh." And then clean it up, LOL!

Normally, that's what I'd do too, except:

My sister is visiting me for the first time in a couple of years. She, of all people, will be forgiving of clutter and cat toys all over the floor, but she MUST have a clean place to sleep. I've taken great pains over the guest room for the past month, and thought it was *ready*.

By sheer good fortune the hypoallergenic dust-block on the mattress was waterproof enough to protect it, but all the bedding had to be doused in anti-stink solution and then washed again, comforter driven to dry cleaner and back, and generally creating a lot of work I thought was already done.

Further evidence that I was never meant to be a mother - if this minor pet accident has derailed me so, imagine if I had to deal with dirty diapers every day....

Ohhhhhh! ON the bed!!! I must have misread - I thought you meant on the floor. The bed is another story altogether. And a mess to clean, I agree!
