Date: 2010-05-29 02:40 am (UTC)I've only seen one once, when I was little, as they were very rare where I grew up ... my mother came across one just breaking out of its cocoon while she was gardening and she, my sisters, and I sat there watching it all through the process of pulling itself onto a perch, pumping up its wings, etc., until it was flight-ready. An unforgettable experience. :-)
