Can I tell you how much I love my new motorcycle/engineer boots?

D. got these for me for my birthday (at my request) and they made me feel all Joan Jett cool/tough from the moment I put them on! They look a bit too pristine as of yet but I they were comfortable and surprisingly light right out of the box so I feel sure they'll wear well for years to come.

My only dilemma is how to wear these with something other than jeans. With summer coming up I'll likely experiment, but I have to admit that without some kind of heavy scrunched sock I'm pressed to think of how I can wear them with skirts without looking like I'm standing in a pair of buckets :P Suggestions invited.

Back in the dark ages my day, we wore engineer boots with skirts, or with shorts and fishnets, and no one ever said anything about buckets.

I don't doubt it. I just am not used to the look on me, at least not yet. Perhaps I need to do some "playing dress-up" :P

It's best to dress and then go for groceries.

I recall that above-the-knee skirt (usually somewhat full or pleated rather than straight/tapered) with fishnet (or lace) tights and biker boot style too ... the top of the boot being wide rather than close-fitted was definitely part of the look.
